Connect black wire to brass screw on socket.

Connect white wire to silver screw.
3
Screw in the bulb BEFORE plugging in.
4
Plug into the GFCI and test.
⚠ Order matters
Bulb in BEFORE plugging in. Always GFCI, never the wall outlet directly.

Why bulb-first
If you plug in an empty socket, you have a live screw shell exposed. A momentary slip and you're touching live current. Bulb first, every time.
