Why outlet is always live

A switched outlet only works while the switch is on. A receptacle in a typical room needs to be always-live so devices plugged in always have power. Run the black source straight to its brass terminal, NOT through the switch.
  • ○ 5 wires total to drag
  • ○ Black runs split: 2 paths
  • ○ White runs through all 3
  • ○ Ground runs through all 3
  • ○ Outlet is always live
